I know you might be thinking that cheese tea doesn’t exactly sound that appealing. The truth is, this Chinese Cheese Tea recipe will pleasantly blow your tastebuds out of this world. It’s a decadent and delightful treat that’s easy to make and will have you going back for seconds.

The good part about this recipe is the cheese foam topping can be used on all kinds of drinks. I’m not as big of a tea drinker as I am of coffee, so I decided to use my favorite coffee instead. It is DELICIOUS!

For those of you who don’t have a tea shop around town that’s open, this is the perfect way to make your favorite Chinese-style tea with a twist at home. Plus, you don’t really need that many ingredients so it’s easy to make! Just make sure you’re ready to get an arm workout or have an electronic whisk at hand.

So, without further ado, let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of cream cheese
  • 7 TBSP sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup of whole milk
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 8-10 oz of coffee or tea

Directions

In a large mixing bowl, add the cream cheese, sugar, and salt. Whisk it all together until it’s even and creamy and all the salt and sugar dissolve.

Slowly add milk into the mixture while mixing at the same time if possible. Do this in small intervals that way the milk doesn’t over-saturate your mixture and become clumpy. You should get a creamy texture after all the milk is mixed in.

In a separate mixing bowl, add the heavy whipping cream and whip until you get to around medium peak density.

Combine the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture and mix together until it’s even and fluffy.

Top it off to your favorite tea or coffee drink. Refrigerate the remaining topping for up to 3 days.
